The Snake Catcher Says...
The Lesser Black Whip Snake, this species is rarely encountered by snake catchers on the Sunshine Coast. This species is considered potentially dangerously venomous. They can grow to around 1.2 meters in length. They are active during the day and are a very alert and fast moving snake. They have large prominent eyes with a long slender body. Their body is dark brown/reddish to grey in colour. They have dark and light markings throughout body caused by contrasting black and white flecks on the individual scales. They also have dark spots and flecks on the top of their head and the side of their face.
