The Snake Catcher Says...

The Marsh Snake, not commonly encountered by snake catchers on the Sunshine Coast. This species is considered mildly venomous. Marsh Snakes are active during the day however they may be active during the night during warmer weather. Marsh Snakes grow to around 60 cm in length on average. Body colour is usually a uniform olive, brown or black above with a dark grey or black belly. This species has a very distinct pattern on their face with two prominent narrow pale-yellowish stripes on each side of the face, one running through the eye and onto the neck area, and the other running below the eye from the snout to the corner of the mouth.
Just remember guys snakes should only be handled or relocated by people with the appropriate permit or license to do so!
